Droupadi, the first tribal woman to be elected to the highest constitutional office, will face UPA presidential candidate Yashwant Sinha.

Draupadi Murmu, the official nominee of BJP, is running for the 2022 presidential elections.Shyam Charan Murmu was her husband.

Droupadi,was widowed after she had two children. Itishri Murmu was her daughter.Draupadi Murmu started her political career in politics as a Rajrangpur district councillor.

Murmu was previously an honorary assistant teacher before entering politics. She has also held several ministerial positions.

Draupadi Murmu was born in Mayurbhanj, Odisha. She is a member of the BJP. She was a cabinet minister in Odisha's former government.
